In past collections Van Herpen has been known to use crows, alchemy and dark magic as her inspiration. And it seems this season she stayed with a variation on those main themes — to great effect.
Organic, forest, and fauna were feelings I got from Van Herpen. One model wore the skeletel structure of what looked to be a snake coiled into a headpiece.
In looks that resembled Haute Couture, rather than ready to wear she created a dazzling display of looped, twisted leather ropes which comprised almost all of her garments. In neutral tones, the Netherlands born designer created a feel of movement and undulating change that kept me on the edge of my seat waiting to see the next piece.
