New Albany, OH (CNS) – Beyonce Knowles’ new fragrance is the subject of a new lawsuit brought up by fashion retailer Abercrombie & Fitch. The company is suing the “Single Ladies” singer of trademark infringement and more.
A&F has filed a preemptive lawsuit against Knowles and fragrance company Coty Inc., claiming their Fierce fragrance would violate their own federally registered Fierce cologne trademark if the singer decided to name it as such.
According to the papers obtained by eonline.com, Knowles and Coty plan to manufacture, distribute, and offer for sale their own version of Fierce fragrance.
However, if they pursue with the plan, the fragrance would infringe A&F’s rights in its trademark for Fierce fragrance.
As a result, A&F is seeking injunctive relief for trademark infringement, false designation of origin, and deceptive trade practices.
