London, UK (CNS) – Australian models Victoria Keon-Cohen and Dunja Knezevic have modeled for Versace and appeared in Vogue. But the models are doing something even bigger for the industry. They’re setting up the first industry code of conduct.
The two models, who currently work out of London, campaigned for London’s Equity union back in 2007. Since then, they’ve worked to protect models who have been mistreated on their jobs, including being cheated out of pay and sexual harassment.
The first code of conduct will be launched with the help of their agency, IMG, one of the world’s biggest model management firms. They’re also in negotiations with the British Fashion Council and the Association of Modeling Agencies.
Since the two began representing other models, Keon-Cohen and Knezevic have received complains about physical harm and instances of harassment from photographers.
There are no plans to introduce the code in their native Australia.
