New York, NY (CNS) – Turner Classic Movies and Bloomingdale’s are partnering up to present “Lights, Camera, Fashion” to help celebrate the fashion of Hollywood’s leading men and women. “Lights, Camera, Fashion” will feature in-store exhibits, contests and live events.
Bloomingdale’s will have 36 stores in 18 markets participating in the event. The initiative will begin in August and continue through October. Each participating store will feature two full exhibition walls with 16 portraits of Hollywood stars accompanied by biographical information, notable film credits and trivia.
“Turner Classic Movies and Bloomingdale’s are both known for impeccable style and sophistication, making this an ideal partnership,” said Tricia Melton, senior vice president of entertainment marketing for TCM, TBS and TNT. “We are delighted to work with Bloomingdale’s in bringing this celebration of Hollywood’s influential fashion to stores across the nation.”
The images in the stores will come from TCM’s Leading Ladies and Leading Men books, which will also be featured at the exhibit wall for purchase along with various DVD’s of classic films. TCM host and film historian Robert Osborne will also be making appearances at the New York stores in September to sign copies of his latest book, “80 Years of Oscar.”
“We wanted our film salute to have roots in the enduring glamour of Hollywood, while stretching all the way to the excitement of today’s most notable independent filmmakers,” said Jack Hruska, executive vice president of creative services at Bloomingdale’s. “We are thrilled that TCM has worked with us on so many levels that combine what is contemporary with what is classic.”
