London, England (CNS) – Bono’s wife is taking Sir Paul McCartney’s daughter to court over the “nude” word. Alison Hewson, wife of the U2 rocker, is suing fashion designer Stella McCartney for using the word “nude” in her new fragrance.
As the U.K.’s The Daily Mail reported, Hewson and business partner Bryan Meehan – founders of the organic food chain Fresh and Wild – have qualms over McCartney’s use of “nude” in her upcoming scent, Stella Nude, because they also have a Nude Skincare line.
McCartney apparently already created a collection based on “nude” flesh tones, so the idea is already a part of her brand.
The designer is hoping to settle the matter out of court, although a source told the tabloid that she isn’t likely to make changes to the perfume because it is already coming out next month and nudity is a big part of its “look.”
The case is expected to come before the Chancery division this autumn.
