Los Angeles, CA (BANG) – The late Princess Grace of Monaco is to be honored on the Rodeo Drive Walk of Style. The royal will be remembered with a plaque on the famous shopping street in America after she was heralded as a “style legend.”
Blonde beauty Grace Kelly – who married Prince Rainier III of Monaco in 1956 – is fondly remembered for her fashion choices and natural elegance.
She won an Academy Award for best actress in a leading role for “The Country Girl” in 1955.
Grace lived in the principality of Monaco until she was killed in a car accident in 1982.
Prince Albert II of Monaco will accept the tribute on behalf of his late mother in a special ceremony in Beverly Hills in October.
Cartier will also be honored in the ceremony – the first jewelry house to feature on the Walk of Style.
The princess has a special connection to the company.
Prince Rainier III presented Grace with a platinum Cartier ring set with a 10.47carat, emerald-cut diamond when he proposed to her.
Cartier has other links to royal families.
Britain’s Prince of Wales – who later became King Edward VII – dubbed the house “Jeweler of kings and king of jewelers,” issuing a royal warrant to make the firm a supplier to the king in the early 1900s.
Both the princess and Cartier will be immortalized in permanent plaques embedded in the pavement of Rodeo Drive on October 22.
