Miami, FL (CNS) – Style.com. the home of Vogue magazine on the web, is giving fashion fans an ultimate shopping guide for Fall 2009. They’ve even broken it up into this season’s key trends in the following categories: biker brigade, boudoir crossing, forties and fabulous, party like it’s 1983, ruche hour, and smart investments.
Biker brigade features items likea leather jacket, dress and leggings combo from Hemut Lang, a denim vest from Justin Timberlake’s line William Rast, and an eye-popping studded clutch from Diane von Furstenberg. Channeling the 80’s this season are designers like Anna Sui and her star-filled tulle dress, and even jeweler Swarovski with a hot pink allegro bag. Ruche is in for Fall and Style’s picks include a body-hugging Malandrino memory jersey dress and even a draped poly dress from BCBG Max Azria. Menswear has also been making appearances on runways and red carpets, including designer Elie Tahari’s Shana hacjet with Teresa pant and Delores blouse.
“This is the first collection that was timed for designers to take the recession into account,” said Nicole Phelps, executive editor of Style.com. “Some approached it from a rebellious perspective, adding biker accents, and others channeled the very source of the downturn, the investment bankers themselves.”
The prices for the most part don’t reflect the recession. Some items, like the Swarovski bag, retail for as much as $1,900. Others would ring up for over two grand just to complete the entire ensemble. But Style does offer some key looks that won’t break the bank. A Mango grease pant and rolling jacket combo is stylish and affordable and a sleek H&M outfit can be had for under $150.
