Hoffman Estates, IL (CNS) – Disney star Selena Gomez is teaming up with department store giant Sears for rocking school fashion. The “Wizards of Waverly Place” actress is fronting the company’s back to school integrated marketing campaign.
The 17-year-old singer/actress will debut a variety of Sears clothes that all infuse various fashion personalities, such as skate-style outfits that will showcase bold colors and geometric patterns, hip-hop styles with lots of flares, rocker styles with edgy and dark or muted colors, and pop styles that mix and match lots of dressy elements with casual pieces.
Gomez said, “Music and fashion are two of the ways I really get to express myself. I think a lot of kids my age feel the same way. How I am feeling on any given day really influences the type of music I listen to and how I dress and that’s one of the reasons I am working with Sears, because they have such a wide variety of different fashions, you can always find the styles that fit your own personal look.”
According to Sears, the golden rule of teen fashion is to make the style about the wearer. So the company is offering their Sears Satisfaction Guarantee to customers who don’t think they want their bought styles. Unsatisfied style buyers can choose to return their merchandise at any time within 90 days of purchase.
Also, Gomez has been tapped to host the Sears Arrive Air Band Casting Call, which aims to create the first-ever Sears Air Band.
Four band members have already been selected to be in the Arrive Air Band, and Sears will be selecting one more member, aged 8 to 16, to complete the group. Those who are interested have until August 11 to participate in the casting call by either uploading their audition video online at arrivelounge.com or by visiting a select mall in 10 cities across the countries where auditions will be held.
The chosen one will be performing on the red carpet with the Sears Arrive Air Band at the MTV VMAs on September 13 in New York.
