New York, NY (CNS) – “The Devil Wears Prada” gave us a look at a fictional “Runway” magazine based on a real-life parallel of Vogue magazine’s editor-in-chief Anna Wintour. Now, “The September Issue” released its trailer which shows a glimpse into the real world of Anna Wintour who appears to be less of “the Devil” than Meryl Streep portrayed.
But the trailer does give fashion fans a glimpse into the workings of the major magazine as they work on the American publication’s biggest issue of the year, “the September issue. “The September Issue” follows Wintour and the employees of Vogue as the 840-page, 727-ad September 2007 issue is constructed.
The trailer shows that “The Devil Wears Prada” did get plenty of details right, with Anna Wintour’s office looking like a young, naive Anne Hathaway with knees-buckling would walk into the frame at any moment. The film will also feature plenty of iconic designers. The trailer even gives a sneak peek at Wintour telling Oscar de la Renta that one of his designs isn’t interesting enough for a fashion show.
“The September Issue” was among the nominees for the Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival. The film opens in theaters in September.
