Huntington Beach, CA (CNS) – Surf retailer Quicksilver is just another one of the many companies being hit hard by the down economy. The company has announced that they will face yet another round of layoffs in the next several months.
According to a notice by the California Economic Development Department’s Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN), the company will lay off 168 employees, with 153 to be let go around July 21. Another 15 jobs will be eliminated by October 1.
Quicksilver has already endured several rounds of layoffs, with over 300 employees let go in 2008 and another 200 job cut in January from the company’s American division.
There is no word yet on exactly which divisions or brands would be hit hardest, but the notice states that the jobs slashed would be from the retailer’s Huntington Beach office.
