Milan, Italy (CNS) – Fashion designer Giorgio Armani is on his way to recovery from hepatitis. The Italian fashion tycoon wishes to “calm worries” about his current state of health.
The 74-year-old designer was notably absent from the international furniture and design exhibition Salone Internazionale del Mobile in Milan last month. His non-appearance caused apparent public concern.
However, according to a rep from the fashion house, his absence from the event was not related to his illness.
Armani issued a statement on Thursday, saying, “There have been several phone calls asking the same questions and expressing the same concerns regarding my health. I have decided to calm these worries in my usual direct and clear style of communication.”
He said that his empire continues to operate “normally with business as usual” and that there were no shifts in “delegation of authorities” and that the company is still running with the “usual energy.”
