Milan, Italy (CNS) – Roberto Cavalli launched his namesake club in Dubai last week with a lavish private party for more than 400 friends. Touted as the first designer club in the Middle East, The Cavalli Club cost the designer nearly $30 million.
With its opulent Italian restaurant, sushi bar and nightclub the club has Swarovski crystals hanging from the ceiling, and furniture with animal-print upholstery. The opulent club was supposed to open last fall but construction delayed the opening.
“This is the perfect place to express the futuristic concept of the Cavalli Club,” he told WWD. “Dubai is experimentation, research of the new, and so is my fashion.”
The ace designer calls Dubai the “future of the luxury business” adding that he has many stores in this area that has loyal customers.
The club is connected to the Fairmont Hotel in the heart of the city and also includes a boutique showcasing jewelry, watches and a selection of the designer’s favorite gourmet Italian foods, the magazine reports.
The designer also revealed that he hopes to open the next Cavalli Club in Milan next month.
