New York, NY (CNS) – Celebrities are lending a helping hand to help raise money for Books for Kids, a charity that creates libraries, donates books and helps promote literacy for young children. The hand decorated messenger bags will be auctioned online.
Participating celebrities include Chace Crawford, Debra Messing, Tina Fey, Sophia Bush, Samantha Harris, Kim Kardashian and Taylor Lautner.
Books for Kids was founded in 1986 and has provided kids with more than 5 million books, created 56 libraries and provided all types of literacy programs in numerous locations. The program has a special emphasis on low-income and at-risk preschool aged children.
Kim Kardashian was delighted to participate saying, “As a big sister, I know how important it is to encourage reading. I was happy to decorate a bag to benefit Books for Kids knowing what a huge difference such a small effort can make.”
The auction is sponsored by kid’s retailer The Children’s Place and will run on eBay from April 14 until April 24.
