New York, NY (CNS) – The celebration of Earth Month is kicking into high gear and Origins is doing its part by launching its Return to Origins recycling program. The new program was inspired by an article in Allure magazine in 2008 about the growing problem of cosmetic waste.
The company will be accepting all empty cosmetic containers, no matter the brand, at more than 450 Origins retail stores and Origins department store counters across the country. The stores are providing a dedicated recycling receptacle for all of the discards such as toiletry bottles, tubes, caps, jars and compacts.
Jane Lauder, the Origins senior vice president and general manager said in a press release, “We hope to inspire the rest of our industry to take proactive measures to implement practices that protect our communities and the environment.”
The first-of-its-kind program began April 1st and customers who bring in their cosmetic empties will receive a free sample from the Origins A Perfect World collection.
