London, England (BANG) – Britain’s Queen Elizabeth is personally choosing the items to be exhibited in a show about her fashion. The monarch was reportedly so unhappy with the outfits selected by Royal Collection staff that she and her personal assistant Angela Kelly – who used to be her dresser – decided to curate the exhibition themselves.
A source told Britain’s The Daily Mail newspaper: “The Queen didn’t like some of the proposals and because no one knows her wardrobe, or indeed her mind, better than Angela, she and Miss Kelly are collaborating on it together.”
“Apparently some suggestions were made which it was felt were not right. It’s all being handled terribly discreetly to avoid offending anyone, but some items were rejected and counter-suggestions made.”
“The fact is Angela is in charge of the Queen’s wardrobe and is the curator of her dresses, so she was always going to be in the best position to know what was appropriate.”
“This is going to be an important exhibition and the Queen is determined that it is put together right. She trusts Angela’s judgment implicitly.”
Liverpool-born Angela, 55, is viewed as the queen’s closest confidante. She has complete control of the monarch’s appearance, both choosing and making many of her clothes.
