Miami, FL (CNS) – It might have been a cool, breezy night in South Florida but on the fashion runway models were dressed ready for a snowstorm at the Michael Kors show in Miami.
Sports stars, celebrities and philanthropic icons were all on hand for Destination Fashion 2009 where “Project Runway” star Michael Kors treated guests to a special runway show of his collection straight from New York Fashion week, presented by Saks Fifth Avenue Bal Harbor. With male and female models decked in coats, scarves and winter hats with neon-hued accents, the new line was an all-American combination of classic and chic.
Celebrities including A-lister Tommy Lee Jones and his wife Dawn, South Florida residents Gloria and Emilio Estefan, Scottie Pippen and Pat Riley were all on hand for the event, which was hosted by NFL Hall of Famer Nick Buoniconti in benefit of the The Buoniconti Fund to Cure Paralysis. Television stars David Chokachi, Brad Leland, Clay Adler and model Joanna Krupa were also spotted in the mix of the crowd. After the runway show, guests were further treated to an entertainment extravaganza with concerts by the Pointer Sisters and Seal.
Michael Kors and his collection will remain in Miami on Monday where fashionistas and fans alike can admire his collection at the Saks Fifth Avenue in Bal Harbor, where the designer himself will be at the Designer Salon on Two between 2-4pm.
