London, England (CNS) – Brit fashion designer Christopher Kane has teamed up with fashion brand Versace to create a new range of accessories. The 26-year-old will design for the re-launched, younger Versace Versus Line.
The Glasgow-born London-based fashion designer will design a collection of bags and shoes for the label, reports femalefirst.co.uk. The details of the collaboration will be announced by Donatella Versace at the ongoing Milan Fashion Week.
Kane launched his own label with his sister Tammy, who studied at the Scottish College of Textile Design, and who looks after the finances as well as being involved in fabric development.
The young designer first attracted the attention of Donatella Versace when he won the Lancôme Colour Award in 2005, while still a student at Central Saint Martins. He has also worked for Versace’s couture collection in addition to being a consultant on accessories.
His current spring/summer collection, featuring dinosaur like “fins” and graphics, inspired by The Flintstones, has been a sell-out on Net-a-porter.com.
