Paris, France (CNS) – There is speculation in the media that Olivier Theysken, the artistic director of French fashion house Nina Ricci has left the label. Designer Peter Copping, who has been working alongside Marc Jacobs, will replace Theysken.
Rumors have been circling for some weeks now about design differences between Theyskens and the heads of Puig Fashion Group, which owns Ricci. The house hasn’t confirmed the rumors as Theyskens’s contract will continue until October.
However on Wednesday, WWD reports Peter Copping is in line to replace Theyskens. Jacobs did recruit Copping a decade ago for Louis Vuitton, and before that he designed for Sonia Rykiel.
On November 1, 2006 Theyskens became artistic director at Nina Ricci, and his first line debuted in March 2007. As of 2007, Theyskens has shown 3 collections for the House of Nina Ricci, all of which were received with acclaim.
