Rome, Italy (BANG) – Italy’s Prince Emanuele Filiberto of Savoy is making his mark on the fashion industry. The Italian prince has teamed up with designer Raimondo Ciofani to create the “Prince of Italy” clothing line.
The garments, which bear the arms of the Italian royal family, are designed by Ciofani according to the “instructions” and “style” of the 36-year-old prince.
The former royal said: “I have always been very demanding about clothes and I told myself I would like to wear the clothing I created.”
Emanuele – the grandson of Italy’s last king, Umberto II of the House of Savoy – was born in Switzerland, as no male members of Italy’s royal family were allowed inside the country from 1946.
The prince first entered his ancestral homeland in 2002, when the abolition was lifted.
The “Prince of Italy” clothing line will be available in selected shops this summer.
