New York, NY (CNS) – Fergie has joined the latest M – A – C Campaign to join the in the fight against AIDS. The three-time Grammy award winning singer will be appearing in the brand’s VIVA Glam campaign for February of 2008.
The M – A – C AIDS Fund helps support people across the world affected by HIV and AIDS. It was founded in 1994 to raise awareness of the link between poverty and HIV and AIDS, teach prevention, offer access to care and show the importance of continuing the use of medications and treatments. The program has raised over $130 million dollars for the cause.
Fergie discussed the new campaign stating, “Combating stigma and the spread of HIV has a lot to do with raising awareness. As a musician, I’m able to reach a wider audience about issues close to my heart, and through the M – A – C VIVA GLAM campaign, I’ve been able to get this message across to people around the world.” Fergie will be promoting a special edition Lip Glass, created to go over a lip color. All of the proceeds for the product will be donated to support the fight against HIV/AIDS.
