Bangalore, India (CNS) – British luxury fashion house Burberry is opening its first landmark store in southern Indian state of Bangalore, India. The 140 square metre store, located within the UB City Mall, opened on January 10, 2009. The brand recently opened its flagship store in Indian capital Delhi.
The store carries a full range of ready-to-wear for men and women from the Burberry London collection, according to a press release. Burberry accessories include the Gardener bag, jewelery and shoes as well as fragrance, timepieces and sunglasses lines are also available in the store.
Despite an economy that grew around 9 percent in the last three years, most luxury brands from outside India are not doing great in the country. Louis Vuitton only has four shops to show for its five years in the country, compared with 25 in China.
India’s luxury market is likely to grow at an average annual rate of 25 percent over the next five years, trailing China’s at 30 percent growth and Brazil’s 35 percent, market analysts believe.
