London, England (CNS) – Italian fashion house Missoni has opened its first individual store in London, United Kingdom. The 3,500 square foot store will open at 193 Sloane Street in London, Vogue reports.
Missoni CEO Gasparini told Vogue magazine, “The U.K. customer has always demonstrated a great appreciation for the Missoni product and brand heritage. Consequently we have made the exciting decision to open the first Missoni UK standalone store.”
“We are extremely excited about this addition to our store portfolio and look forward to being part of the vibrant and cosmopolitan London scene.”
The extravagant store has three floors where menswear, womenswear and homewares will be displayed. The ground floor will see a dedicated accessories area and eveningwear area while the first floor will include a VIP suite where customers can relax and watch TV.
Famous for its unique knitwear, made from a variety of fabrics in colorful patterns, the Italian label is a favorite of celebrities such as Nicole Richie. The company was founded by Ottavio (“Tai”) and Rosita Missoni in 1953.
Missoni knitwear is known for its multitude of patterns such as stripes, geometrics, and abstract florals, in a kaleidoscope of colors. They are also known for the liberal use of many different fabrics such as wool, cotton, linen, rayon and silk.
