London, England (CNS) – Rumor in the fashion world is that Dame Helen Mirren has been offered a chance to design a collection for Marks and Spencer, the British retail fashion chain.
The Oscar-winning actress has been very vocal about the lack of choices for stylish clothes for older women and has stated in the past that she would love to design a range of clothing, with a possible name for the line being “DWS” for Dresses with Sleeves.
Mirren, 63, told Glamour magazine, “There are no dresses with sleeves-we need to bring back the sleeve: fine, see-through ones, three-quarter length or long-there are many wonderful things you can do with sleeves.”
Stuart Rose, Marks and Spencer’s chief executive told the Daily Telegraph, “She is a very stylish lady. I once sat next to her at lunch and I remember her even if she won’t remember me. Hers is a very interesting concept and we’re always interested in new ideas, so let’s see what happens.”
