London, England (CNS) – British red-carpet designer Amanda Wakeley has left her business after a corporate takeover of her fashion company. Her brand has been bought by the corporate restructuring specialist, Jason Granite, a former City trader with Deutsche Bank.
Wakeley, who established her signature label in 1990, told The Telegraph that she has been advised that her services will be no longer required and she has resigned the company effective immediately.
Wakeley’s company has a flagship store in Fulham Road, London, SW3, as well as concessions in Harrods, Selfridges and Harvey Nichols. Her list of clients includes Scarlett Johansson, Dame Helen Mirren, Demi Moore, Kate Beckinsale, Helen Hunt and Jada Pinkett Smith.
However the designer also released a statement saying that she will not give up and is considering a “variety of ideas which I look forward to developing in the New Year.”
