New York, NY (CNS) – Barack Obama’s wife Michelle is reportedly gracing the cover of Vogue magazine. As editor-in-chief Anna Wintour is a vocal supporter of the first family, reports suggest that the new first lady will be taking the magazine’s coveted spot.
However, Vogue is coy about the Michelle’s magazine spot, admitting only that she will indeed be in the magazine.
The fashion magazine’s spokesman told WWD, “Starting with Eleonor Roosevelt, it’s been a long-standing tradition to photograph the new First Lady. So needless to say, we are very interested in working with Mrs. Obama.”
“Precisely how is still being discussed.”
If the Mrs. Obama does secure the cover page, she’ll be the second first lady to do so in the magazine’s long history. Former first lady Hillary Clinton appeared on Vogue’s cover in December 1998.
