Miami, FL (CNS) — There was a lot of white, a lot of pink, and a lot of excitement at the V.I.P. Pink-Ribbon White Party Kick-Off for the Fashion Designers Expo in Miami this week. The event, which took place at Mansion on Wednesday night, was in benefit of Breast Cancer Awareness for the American Cancer Society.
Models were clad in all-white and so were some guests, but the mood was colorful as everyone was there in support of hot new fashions and a good cause. The event brought out fashion designers, models, and other industry people, as well as Miami Slip-N-Side Records artists Camar and Shonie.
Reggae/Hip-Hop artist Camar said he was there for two reasons: fashion and beautiful woman. “Fashion and music both bring beautiful people together. It’s all about artistry, musical artistry and fashion artistry. It’s always a collaboration,” he said.
“This event gets better and better each and every year,” said fashion stylist, creative director and columnist Beluchi Jeannot of BeluchiLifestyle.com. “I’m so pleased. It’s only fair to support the up-and-coming designers because everybody at one point was up-and-coming.”
Tiffany Richardson, from Season 4 of America’s Next Top Model and best-known for the heavily watched YouTube moment where Tyra screamed at the contestant during her final judging, was also on hand to support the designers featured at the event. “We help eachother out,” she said. “I like wearing fresh things and those emerging designers are so full of hope and energy. They’ll even design especially for me sometimes. We really do help eachother out.”
Excitement was still in the air from newly elected President Barack Obama’s victory the night before. “Oh my God, I can’t believe it,” Richardson said. “Speaking of hope and energy, we made history.”
