Miami, FL (CNS) – Shimmering, twinkling and above all bejeweled swimsuits took center stage at the Bejeweled Swim fashion show at The Setai in Miami Beach on Wednesday night.
Bejeweled Swim, a new line of Rock-and-rhinestone heavy swimwear featured varied looks including studded, vintage tattoo art and bold color dyes as well as more simple black and gold numbers. One playful number featured art from the Wonder Woman comics on the bottom.
Bejeweled Swim is a new line from Bejeweled by Susan Fixel, which already features various divisions including women’s, children’s and denim. The swimwear collection featured the trademark skulls and Swarovski crystal looks of Bejeweled’s other brands. One-piece and two-piece bathing suits were featured, as well as Bejeweled tanks and hoodies from their established lines. The unusual cross-shaped runway was built over the The Setai’s lush outdoor pool.
The Bejeweled Swim show brought out a fashion-forward crowd of Miami VIP and models, including South Florida resident and Irene Marie model Vinci Alonso, who’s best known from being featured on MTV’s “8th & Ocean” and VH1’s “Viva Hollywood”.
The Bejeweled Swim fashion show helped kick off Funkshion Fashion Week, a showcase of up-and-coming designers as well as some bigger names in the industry. Now in its 11th season, past collections featured at Funkshion Fashion Week include Justin Timberlake’s clothing line, William Rast, and Jennifer Lopez’s Sweetface line.
