Set in the mango store in Oxford Street, it was manic waiting for the show to kick off. White body con lace and see through headpieces made up the beginning section of the show. Chiffon ruffles (how many times have I written that this season) made up skirts, while a build in bra structure with flared out waist toughened up the mood. Cut out leather swirls were attached to dresses and shirts, in plums, soft pinks and blacks. Paisley print white fabric was constructed into a fitted trouser suit, with a cream shirt underneath. One of my favourite pieces was a black and navy simple sweater, with mesh blouson sleeves. A black woven bra was worn with a draped pink skirt, while leather was used as detailing. Feminine, but a touch rock’n’roll, Modernist were keeping things simple this season, but clever detailing added another dimension to garments.
