Meadham Kirchnoff’s figure for this season is ‘reserved, and restricted by her terrible thoughts’. Twisted between her deep-rooted masculinity and softer, lighter femininity a constant battle occurs. Chiffon and lace are stitched onto men’s shirts and long hot orange and black blouses hang down below blazer jackets, creating an unusual, imbalanced silhouette. Ripped pale denim jeans and black wet look skinnys gave it a slightly Camden market Goth feel, but lace and stitched couturier pieces lend a definite femininity. A palette of nude, orange, and the palest blue were sent amongst the more classic foundations of black and navy. I don’t think I would necessarily use it in my work, but it was admirable none the less.
