    Jenny Packham

The Jenny Packham show this season was, um, pack-ed! Sorry I couldn’t resist a bad joke. A gorgeous array of long legged beauties strutted their stuff down the runway, one of the first shows I have seen this season with impeccable casting. Pastel colours appeared once again at Packham, with soft pinks, coral, peach, violet and aqua. The first half of the show was my favourite, with intricately detailed mini dresses. Ruffles, ruffles, ruffles, on every dress almost. I always find Jenny does a long, Oscar type gown very well, however this isn’t really my bag. Therefore I was delighted to see some cutesy, fresh and young mini dresses skimming past. My favourite dress of the whole show was a sheer chiffon/tulle with multicoloured fine dot print, with a flared ra ra skirt. How you’d actually wear it is quite another matter, as it is as see through as cling film. Crystal, gemstones, gold and beading was used heavily throughout the show, on many of the dresses, as waistlines, necklines and hemming. The later part of the show consisted of a multitude of long, wafty numbers in soft pastel, romantic and feminine but not really my cup of tea. A Barbies dream show and actually a rather sumptuous, well though out and desirable collection. I am impressed!
