    Bernard Chandran

One of my favourite designers from last seasons shows, I was looking forward to seeing Bernard Chandran. I must admit I was feeling somewhat sketchy after the Swarovski Fashion Rocks Giles party last night, but the complimentary Fiji water went down nicely. Origami esq dresses in folded stiff silk, with measures of fabric cut out and sown on to create unusual, three dimensional silhouettes. Colour ways included burnt orange, acid yellow, soft whites and creams, shimmering gold’s and silvers. Folded, cocoon shaped boleros, obscure giant pocketed dresses and slouchy, wearable shirt dresses. Stencilled floral tabards with cut outs hung over dresses in rectangle and oval shapes. A red cape coat, a rainbow top and skinny gold trousers appeared. An eastern inspired collection, keeping notes of Chandrans heritage in the design, but with an edgy editorial slant.
