Toronto, Canada (CNS) – Hockey player Sean Avery may be known as a “bad boy” in the world of hockey, but in the world of fashion he is known as the “best dressed” guy. A new film is being made about professional hockey player Avery, and his experiences in the fashion world.
Celebrity News Service has learned that New Line Cinema is making a film about Avery and his experiences in the fashion world, including his stint as a summer intern at Vogue. Avery, who says he was always the best dressed kid at school, spent the summer doing an internship with Vogue where he served as guest editor of MensVogue.com.
Avery has reportedly said his fellow hockey players sometimes poke fun at him for being a fashionista, but Avery also said he is still just a guy who likes to beat other people up so apparently the name calling doesn’t bother him.
The new movie will explore Avery’s adventure into the world of fashion and the people he met there, but in addition it will be a romantic comedy. Is anyone else thinking “The Devil Wears Prada”? Not sure if Avery was treated like that at Vogue, but if he was we will probably see some fists flying when the film arrives on the big screen.
Stan Chervin will write the screenplay and Contrafilms’ Beau Flynn and Tripp Vinson, who were behind New Line’s sleeper hit “Journey to the Center of the Earth,” will produce.
Avery was a member of the NHL’s New York Rangers when he did his Vogue internship, although he now plays for the Dallas Stars.
