Erin Fetherston’s Spring 2009 collection felt like a day in that season – light pastels, ruffles (lots of ruffles) and a smattering of floral patterns. The collection was deceivingly simply because underneath there was nuance. It was evident even in the order that the collection was well thought out. She started out with a less-than-formal flowing pantsuit then went into day wear, notched it up with wonderful shorts and sheer top; by the end we were getting formal but not in a stuffy manner.
The overly romantic pieces could dress your Barbie but would look much better on the real thing. Spring trends from this collection include a drop shoulder asymmetrical dress in a light violet, a multi-colored pastel spaghetti strapped dress with a quasi-trane flowing behind. I say quasi because it didn’t go all the way down to the floor, which is a unique and beautiful touch design-wise.
