B Michael is a designer that needs a proper introduction to the fashion world at large. It’s not as if he’s working incognito. He’s already a celebrity in the world of design, but restructuring the company and rebuilding it has been a priority and he’s done just that with this collection for Spring 2009. For those who were unaware, this collection was the proper re-introduction that he needed. A spring trend noticeably made it’s way into the designer’s collection for the season. The slim fit silhouette that’s been a staple for recent men’s fashion trends has come over to the women’s side as evidenced by the slinky looks in the collection.

The collection was more than deferential to Jackie O.’s sense of style, it was an excessively wonderful homage. B Michael has made it no secret that he mimics her sense of style when he designs and there’s genius in the silks, the evening gowns, the 60s inspired flare dresses with heart shaped bustier in tow. At some points the line strayed too close to the school marm zone, but recovered nicely in the end. You will want to wear this for spring.
