Los Angeles, CA (CNS) – Stylish Nicole Kidman will get a little help in the shoe department as high-end shoe company Salvatore Ferragamo creates various footwear for the A-list star for her new film “Australia.”
Teaming up with Oscar-winning costume designer Catherine Martin, Ferragamo will create shoes for Kidman – including evening sandals, riding boots, and classic wedge styles – that she will be seen wearing in her upcoming period epic film.
As quoted by vogue.co.uk, the company’s James Ferragamo explains, “We are extremely proud and honored to work with the visionary filmmakers, director Baz Luhrmann and designer Catherine Martin. We are very confident that, though their passion and creativity, they would realize an unprecedented vision.”
“My grandfather, Salvatore Ferragamo, began his career working in costume design for the American Film Company, a precursor to Twentieth Century Fox, so it is only fitting that we carry on his name and our company’s heritage by collaborating once again on a film from Fox.”
Selected shoes will be sold at Ferragamo stores worldwide and will include a certificate of authenticity explaining the history of the piece. The shoes will also be showcased in Milan at the Evolving Legend Exhibition from September 24.
“Australia” was originally scheduled for release on November 13 in Australia and November 14 in the U.S.; however, Fox announced that the new release date for the film will be on November 26.
