Los Angeles, CA (CNS) – Michael Phelps, the all time winningest Olympian, made a fashion statement by appearing on a magazine cover with his eight gold medals around his neck.
Now Phelps’s mom, Debbie, is making her own fashion statement.
Debbie Phelps is in talks with Chico’s about a potential collaboration. Celebrity News Service was happy to see that the Best Mom of the Olympics also has fashion sense.
Apparently before Debbie left for Beijing, she stocked up on Chico’s clothes. The retailer spread the word via-email that gold medal moms all wear Chico’s and they are calling the items she bought “The Debbie Phelps Collection.”
The collection includes travel pieces as well as the outfit Debbie wore on the Johnson & Johnson commercial that debuted Sunday night after the closing ceremonies.
The commercial showed Debbie wearing her Chico’s clothes and saying that Michael would always be her little boy, a little boy that poses half-naked for magazines wearing more gold than some nations have. But enough about Michael and his bling.
Chico’s, oddly enough, didn’t have a formal agreement with Debbie before claiming they have a “Debbie Phelps Collection,” but they are now in talks with her management team to see what they can work out. Hopefully they can come up with a winning agreement.
