New York, NY (CNS) – The next eight days in New York city will be a fashion plate of stars and styles. The fashion industry is beginning its biannual convention on Friday, as buyers and editors cast their votes for next spring’s trends.
Fashion editor Staci Sturrock, of the Palm Beach Post, said fashion fans should expect variety, not unity of styles, when the new lines are introduced in the spring.
Celebrity News Service would love to be a fly on the wall in New York right now, as more than 200 celebrity-filled soirees will take place during the next week. Just imagine the clothes, the shoes, the hot new looks that will be seen.
Some of the highlights of the week include: a launch party for LL Cool J’s new collection, which is sold exclusively at Sears, and Tommy Hilfiger will hold a meet-and-greet at the debut of his men’s and women’s Spring 2009 collections.
It’s not all fashion, however. Gwen Stefani’s Harajuku Girls are flying in from Japan to perform in the windows of Bloomingdales.
Also offering shows during the week will be, just to name a few, Lacoste, Nicole Miller, DKNY, Carolina Herrera, Betsey Johnson, Calvin Klein. Retailers such as Gap, Banana Republic and Victoria’s Secret will also take part in the shows.
