New York, NY (CNS) – Talking about her history in the modeling industry, supermodel Christie Brinkley shares the double cover August 25 issue of New York magazine with Spanish pro tennis player Rafael Nadal.
The “Uptown Girl” muse shares her megawatt smile on the cover of the magazine’s style issue while she talks about how she started in the industry that made her a household name.
After four failed marriages, the last one with architect Peter Cook ended in a sordid and public divorce proceeding, the 54-year-old timeless beauty says she’s never getting married again.
When asked how she remained clean and healthy despite the cocaine culture that engulfed the fashion industry, she says she resisted the temptation because she “always knew I wanted to be a mom, and I always wanted my body to be healthy for those kids. And besides, it felt disrespectful to my parents.”
And for her, “Modeling is kind of like skiing, or riding a bike. When you get back in the right light, it all just comes back. You feel a little safer in that light.”
For the 22-year-old sports heartthrob, his court style is his own. But on the back cover of the magazine, the shirtless Latino makes a point of saying, “I don’t have anything to do with the design.”
His court attire has been frequently called a “pirate” look, but for him he just doesn’t play dress up. His usual attire of sleeveless tees, shin-length pants, and bandannas has created a signature look for him. And according to the publication, if he had been a thinner and lesser physical player, he wouldn’t have pulled off those “feminine” style clothes.
More of Brinkley’s and Nadal’s interview and photos are in the style issue of New York magazine this August 25.
