The celebrity wear industry has claimed another casualty. Though many were unaware Milla Jovovich (of Resident Evil fame) started a fashion line with fellow model Carmen Hawk a couple of years back that carried their last names, Jovovich-Hawk. The collection was set to be a river apart from other celebrity wear lines that were hitting the clothing racks. Both Jovovich and Hawk were already involved with the fashion industry. They had stints working as models previously and wanted to get in on the other side of the fashion world. The Jovovich-Hawk line received initial praise and made it into Fred Segal stores. Apparently Jovovich-Hawk had problems keeping up with the joneses as Milla also wanted to continue her acting career.
In an interview with Lucky Magazine, Jovovich stated somewhat vaguely that her time with the line had come and gone. She said, ‘It’s like, When one door closes…I’m in a time of rediscovery, from my career to my personal style.’ There is no word on whether Carmen Hawk will continue with her own design efforts.
