Famous (and sometimes infamous) bikini designer Amir Slama has opened his first Rosa Cha store in Manhattan. While it may seem unusual to open a bikini boutique in a place known for 6 foot snow in the winter, Slama was unfazed in this decision. Manhattan is the center of fashion and Slama’s 1400 square foot Rosa Cha store pays homage to that center by featuring all of the designer’s latest creations on sale year round. For the socialite planning on vacationing to warmer climes when Manhattan’s temperature dips below 50 degrees Fahrenheit, a stop off at the Rosa Cha store will be well in order before hopping a plane to Bora Bora.
Slama said that he wanted to create an art gallery of fabulous bikini’s and clothes in the middle of Manhattan (or just south of the middle) The store is set to open later this week in fashion trendy Soho on West Broadway. The company expects first year sales from the store to hit $750,000. The company operates some 24 stores worldwide (not including the Manhattan store) and rakes in nearly $20 million a year. Slama aspires to open more stores in the US and venture into handbags and other accessories.
