This year’s group is as eclectic and talented as last year’s group. The award’s prize money will also help the selected designer with their fashion line in the long run. This year the prize money has swelled up to $200,000 for the top designer and $25,000 for 2 runner ups.
Nominated this year are designers from almost every walk of life. Included in the roster this year are Richard Chai, Jason Wu, Alexander Wang, Irene Neuwirth, Albertus Q. Swanepoel of Albertus Quartus, Alejandro Ingelmo, Juan Carlos Obando, Swaim and Christina Hutson of Obedient Sons & Daughters, John Patrick of Organic and Sophie Buhai and Lisa Mayock of Vena Cava.
