The newest season of fashion’s top TV show is around the corner and tongues are already wagging for what is looking to be another great season. Project Runway returns for its fifth season with controversy already in tow. The main storyline has started and the first character has not yet been declared “out” by host and producer Heidi Klum. Project Runway will move from its current home at Bravo TV to USA network where it may possibly get more exposure through a larger audience. The audience for the show already broke records on Bravo spawning several quasi spin-offs, but the original still is head and shoulder pads over the others.
This season sees what executive producer Jane Lipsitz calls “the most diverse group” she says, “from and aesthetic point of view”. Other changes include Elle’s editor at large slash fashion director, Nina Garcia, will appear as the fashion director for Marie Claire. That in and of itself is a major change as is the fact that Elle is no longer the sponsor of the show, Marie Claire takes over those duties. The show premiere’s on Bravo on Wednesday at 9pm ET/PT.
