Valentino has never been one to dip his toe in the proverbial pool before jumping in, so news of the designers headlong deep jump into opening 40 stores is not too surprising, but exciting nonetheless. The stores are set to be standalone Valentino stores hawking all types of Valentino wear including clothing, perfume and Valentino branded items. Private equity firm Permira is looking to back Valentino financially in this new endeavor. The brands recent focus on a younger audience a ‘la Armani Exchange is not meant to tarnish the name but to open it to a wider group of interested Valentino fans.
The plan is to roll out these stores in the next five years and place them in various area all around the world.
