Sex and the City New York Premiere Turns Chaotic

May 28, 2008

While $1,000 Manolos did not go flying and only some elbows were thrown, a fashionable form of chaos did ensue when nearly 2,000 ticketholders at the Radio City Premiere of Sex and the City received bad news. Apparently the 2,000 fabulous fashionistas, Carey collaborators, Miranda maligners, Samantha supporters, and Charlotte cajolers were told in no uncertain terms that there were no more seats at the premiere for them. Movie studios typically overbook the venues for film premieres but something went very wrong. The ushers pointed to the fact that the tickets stated that seating would be done on a first come first served basis, but that did nothing to assuage the fans that paid upwards of $1,000 to get into the venue per ticket. Cynthia Nixon was heard saying that she hoped her mom was able to get in.
