Nicole Farhi presented with CBE

French fashion designer Nicole Farhi has been presented with one of the highest awards given in the UK. Farhi received the CBE for services to the retail industry. Although born in Nice, Farhi has worked in the fashion industry in Britain since the 70s. She worked for French Connection before branching out to create her own line and her success has grown since that point. Celebrities who wear Nicole Farhi’s creations include Nicole Kidman, Cate Blanchett and Colin Firth. In a statement Farhi points to her history and love of fashion saying,
“I am both privileged and delighted to be awarded this honour by Her Majesty the Queen for my contributions to the fashion industry in Britain.
I was born in France but I have been lucky enough to work in Britain for more than 30 years in an industry which, since the 1960s, has provided inspiration to designers all over the world.”
