Karl Lagerfeld doesn’t just invite anyone to his fashion show. You have to be part of fashion’s intelligentsia. Pretentious though not overly so, aware yet not slaving to the trends, faithful yet not blindly so would describe the Chanel customer and the Lagerfeld fashion follower. Word of him building a church for all to follow may be greatly exaggerated. This all leads to the Chanel cruise show in Miami. Some may think it is Lagerfeld’s attempt to claim work while on vacation, but anyone who knows the tireless designer understands that work is his vacation. And so Lagerfeld takes the Chanel cruise show on the road and into Miami for all to see. The cruise collection is based on the trendsetter that loves to travel and fits snuggly between Fall and Spring. This won’t be a capsule folks, this will be all encompassing.
