Hello Kitty Does A Spread for Vogue
Meghan Hart
John Galliano has never shyed away from doing dramatically different things in fashion. His Dior Christmas card for 07 is just a typical example of how non-typical the designer can be. When it was announced recently that Galliano sought to outfit Hello Kitty for Vogue Japan it only made perfect sense. The June issue of Japanese Vogue which hits newstands this week will feature a full photo editorial of the Hello Kitty Character decked out in Galliano’s finest for Dior. In an early preview of what’s due out this Fall from the Dior brand, and in a first, a character will model the autumn collection of fashion house.
Will there be more character fashion design crossovers in the near future? With Galliano, anything is possible. The June issue of Vogue Japan hits newstands April 26.
