Marlene Dietrich, Ingrid Bergman, Marilyn Monroe would be wearing Lauren Conrad were they alive today. Her collection for Los Angeles Fashion Week hearkened back to the Hollywood of yesteryear with a low plunging v-neckline olive mini-dress, a little black dress that had a similar neckline with sexy classic slit, a floral print v-neckline dress (down to the midsection), a black strapless dress with a white bow all reminded us of what Hollywood used to be before pantyless brats started hopping out of cars. This was style, class and grace all rolled into one. Conrad’s collection did something most during LA Fashion week and remarkably others during the fashion week season did not do: recreate various eras in Hollywood. Conrad showed a depth of understanding when it came to colors. Using monochromatic hues on dresses, monochromatic hues on floral dresses while also using a palette of rose, olives, peach and others, she made this show a joy to see and more so one to covet for the fall season.
