Blonde beauties lined the pavement outside the Luella show, all personal friends of the designer apparently. What a lovely venue, Claridges Ballroom, and strong coffee from a bone china cup was much appreciated. The real treat was still to come inside. Teams of stunning witches appeared, ragged hair and over sized satchel bags, with ribbons and lace attached- it was as though these girls had been dragged through a mighty fine hedge! Smock dresses, similar to those I used to wear to smart Children’s party’s appeared, only shorter and more structured. An element of the Gothic was present, but almost immediately banished for a more romantic, elfin feel. With the mastery of Miss Katie England, the styling was perfect and cleverly thought out. Having evolved leaps and bounds from her last collection, I think this is my favourite yet. A childlike innocence was present throughout, gold and rainbow ribbons appearing on almost everything. A fab collection Luella, Darling!
