New York Fashion Week Fall 2008 : Betsey Johnson

As always, Betsey Johnson’s Fall 2008 collection is refreshingly hip. Clearly designed for the daring urbanite or grown-up punk, much of the eclectic line recalled retro styling from the ‘70s and‘80s, but updated for a glam look. Highlights included a simplistic navy dress with short flapping sleeves and thick tape-like seams in lavender, red, marigold and lime green; and super-short shorts in patent leather with black nylons and a puffed-up fur jacket for serious top-heavy volume.
In the land of accessories, Betsey’s picks are guaranteed to hit the streets come Fall: Rounded shades in glossy bright colors and patterned sheer tights for an unapologetically sexy look.
